Introinnovation is a Finnish venture studio and AI engineering, research, and education company headquartered in Helsinki, Finland. We specialise in small language model (SLM) training and fine-tuning, multi-agent AI systems, and building AI-native software for languages and communities that the mainstream tech sector overlooks.

Himilo — Language AI for Horn of Africa and Finland

Himilo is our joint research and product initiative building ethical AI for the Horn of Africa region and Finland. We develop language models, speech synthesis, and speech recognition systems for Somali, Tigrinya, Amharic, Oromo, and Finnish — languages spoken by millions but severely underserved by commercial AI systems.

The Himilo model family includes agentic and retrieval-augmented language models (Himilo-7B, Himilo-4B, Himilo-0.5B), Himilo-Talk (text-to-speech), and Himilo-Speak (automatic speech recognition). These models are designed for deployment in education, public services, healthcare, and enterprise applications in the Horn of Africa and Finnish-speaking contexts.

Somali is spoken by over 25 million people across Somalia, Ethiopia, Kenya, Djibouti, and the diaspora. Tigrinya is spoken by millions in Eritrea and Ethiopia. As of 2026, commercially available AI systems for these languages remain extremely limited — Himilo exists to change that.

EduBlend — AI for Education

EduBlend is an AI-native SaaS platform designed to transform educational experiences through multilingual AI. It integrates adaptive learning, language-aware tutoring, and AI-assisted content creation for educators and learners across linguistic backgrounds.

Uramax — AI for Employment Services

Uramax is an AI-native platform for employment and career services. It uses language models and agentic AI to help job seekers, employment agencies, and HR teams navigate recruitment, skills matching, and career development — with particular focus on multilingual and immigrant communities in Finland.

Why Small Language Models?

Small language models (SLMs) trained on domain-specific data outperform large general models on narrow tasks, at 10–50x lower inference cost and latency. For organisations with proprietary data, specialised workflows, or low-resource language requirements, SLMs are often the right architectural choice.
